Yogi’s Govt Budget 2023 Focusses On Infrastructural And Social Welfare Development
On 22nd of February, the finance minister of Uttar Pradesh, namely, Suresh Kumar Khanna revealed a budget of Rs 6.90 lakh crore for the period 2023-24 with significant allocations for social welfare as well as infrastructure. Incidentally, these two happen to be the primary defining pillars of the development model of the Yogi Adityanath government. According to the government, this particular budget will aid in attaining the $1 trillion economy target by 2027 for the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Government preserves cash for different schemes
The authorities have committed Rs 32,721 crore in this particular budget towards innovative schemes emphasizing infrastructure, females, agriculturalists, and the young generation. Apart from this, the government has also kept Rs 25,350 crore among the most significant allocations for the Jal Jeevan Mission. The main intention of this will be to provide piped baking water to every household out there. In the earlier budget, the allocation was Rs 19,500 crore under the scheme.
As per the chief minister, Yogi Adityanath, this budget will provide much-needed relief to the citizens because the authorities will not propose any new taxes. Furthermore, they will also increase allocations for state-run schemes. According to the chief minister, the BJP government has been able to satisfy 110 promises out of 130 promises which were made at the time of the assembly polls last year.
This budget has reserved Rs 3,000 crore for the Urban Expansion Scheme of the chief minister as well as Rs 2,500 crore intended for the 2025 Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. The govt Budget 2023 has pushed for the upgrading of agriculture which intends to prevent the exodus of the young generation from rural areas looking for better employment amongst other things. The authorities have made the profession of as much as Rs 20 crore for the purpose of attracting the young generation to agriculture. This money has been preserved for the Agritech Startup Scheme in 4 agricultural institutions in the state of Uttar Pradesh. On top of this, the government has also reserved as many as Rs 3,000 crore for establishing fresh industrial cities whose main purpose will be to provide employment to the young generation.
The budget mentioned in this article emphasizes improving ropeway and rail activity which includes the first urban ropeway project in India in Varanasi. Furthermore, the authorities have provisioned as much as Rs 2,500 crore for developing Metro rail in four major cities. The government has also made a provision of as many as Rs 585 crore for the much-awaited Kanpur Metro Rail project, a further Rs 100 crore intended for Metro rail projects in different cities such as Gorakhpur and Varanasi, plus Rs 465 crore intended for the Agra Metro. Here, we like to mention that the government has also preserved Rs 1,306 crore for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System project.
