There will be as many as 10 teams participating in the 13th ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, 2023. The participating nations are as follows: India (as hosts), England, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Australia, South Africa, and so on.

There will be 48 matches in this edition of the World Cup and the matches will take place in as many as 10 venues in the country. The initial match of this tournament will be between England, the defending champions, and New Zealand, the runners-up from the earlier edition.

New Zealand and Pakistan have already arrived

Gradually, all the countries have started arriving in India and here we like to mention that the New Zealand cricket team has already arrived in Hyderabad. The tournament will start on 5th October and will go on till 19th November providing lots of action and thrills for the cricket fans. We all expect that there will be tough competition among the players too.

Interestingly, the cricket team from Pakistan has likewise landed in India which has marked their return to this nation for the first time after they visited India in 2012-2013. Incidentally, it was for a bilateral series between these 2 countries. It is a fact that the arrival of both Pakistan and New Zealand has made cricket buffs excited throughout the country right now.

Here, we like to mention that as many as 4 warm-up matches will take place in Guwahati before the commencement of the tournament.

Warm-up matches

These warm-up matches will take place in Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati from 29th September to 3rd October. In the first warm-up match, Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka on 29th September, and after this, India will play against England in the 2nd warm-up match in Guwahati. The 3rd warm-up match will take place between Bangladesh and England on 2nd October while the ultimate warm-up match will happen between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
