Nitish Kumar met Mamta Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar met Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, and Akhilesh Yadav, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on Monday. Mr. Kumar will do this for making an attempt to unite the country’s opposition parties. According to the sources, Nitish Kumar took a special flight to go to Kolkata in the yesterday’s afternoon for the purpose of the meeting. His main purpose was to discuss the points based on which the position parties will unite for the Lok Sabha election in 2024 against the BJP.

He stayed in Kolkata for three to four hours which consisted a meeting with Mamata Banerjee for approximately two hours.

Mamata Banerjee was involved in several meetings during the last two months

It is a fact that the West Bengal Chief Minister was involved in quite a few meetings during the last two months with some non-BJP as well as non-Congress leaders on the problem of the unity of the opposition in the 2024 elections against the BJP.

Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party chief, came in touch with her in Kalighat last month. These two leaders, in that meeting, give their consent for maintaining a distance from Congress and instead, emphasizing the unity of the local forces in the 2024 elections against the BJP.

Banerjee ventured out to Odisha soon after meeting Akhilesh Yadav, and there she was involved in a meeting with Naveen Patnaik, her counterpart. Following this, she had a meeting with H.D. Kumaraswamy, the Janata Dal-Secular leader, in Kolkata as well.

She likewise had a meeting with M.K. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu last week where she talked about the unity of the opposing forces against the role played by the governors in Tamil Nadu right now.

The chief minister of West Bengal, recently, in all her meetings, emphasized that it is feasible to end the BJP-led regime if the opposing parties become united prior to the Lok Sabha polls held in the year 2024.

In the meantime, Nitish Kumar will head out to Lucknow for meeting Akhilesh Yadav for the purpose of discussing some important points. Earlier, Nitish Kumar had already met Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress President, as well as Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, in addition to Sitaram Yechury as well as D Raja for discussing opposition unity.
