The NCRTC reports that the 2.21 MWp internal solar power generation along the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS route saves 2,300 tn of CO2.
“Currently, 2.21 MWp of in-house solar power generation across the RRTS corridor is contributing to savings of over 2,300 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) annually,” the NCRTC stated in a statement.
According to NCRTC authorities, 70% of the energy required for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS route will come from solar energy.
There are currently operating solar power plants at the Guldhar and Sahibabad RRTS stations, with a combined peak capacity of 729 kilowatts (kWp). Similarly, the Duhai Depot and Duhai Depot station each have functioning solar power plants with a capacity of 585 kWp and 108 kWp. Additional solar power generators are the Ghaziabad RSS, which has a capacity of 20 kWp, and the Murad Nagar Receiving Sub Station (RSS), which has a capacity of 43 kWp. The official stated that installation is ongoing at additional stations.
1,620 highly efficient solar panels have been installed at the Guldhar and Sahibabad RRTS stations’ solar plants.
